By opting into SMS text messaging from Plumas Lake Elementary School District (PLESD), you agree to receive school-related text messages at the mobile number you provide, subject to these Terms and Conditions.
PLESD uses ParentSquare for school and district notifications, updates, and reminders, and the PLESD phone service provider for individual conversations with families.
Opt-In Consent
At the beginning of each school year, parents and guardians will be asked to opt into or out of SMS messaging when completing annual data confirmation.
By selecting the opt-in option, you consent to receive text messages from PLESD for the purposes described above. Your consent applies to PLESD communications and does not authorize other organizations to send you marketing or promotional messages.
Participation is voluntary. You may change your choice during the school year by contacting your child’s school office.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on school activities, district updates, and individual communication needs. Additional messages may be sent during urgent events.
Opt-Out Process
You may request to stop SMS messages at any time by contacting your child’s school office. You do not need to wait until the next annual data confirmation.
For general ParentSquare text messages, reply STOP to unsubscribe. For messages through the PLESD phone service provider, tell the staff member that you no longer wish to receive text messages or contact the school office.
ParentSquare urgent alerts may be handled differently from general notifications. Contact your school office for assistance with these preferences.

For assistance with PLESD text messaging or to update your mobile number or messaging preferences, contact your child’s school office or the District Office at (530) 743-4428.
Terms of Consent
Your consent is voluntary and is not a condition of student enrollment or access to school services. If you opt out of SMS messaging, contact your child’s school office to arrange another way to receive school communications.

Your mobile number, consent records, and message interaction information are handled as described in the PLESD SMS Privacy Policy.
Your mobile information and SMS consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier’s plan. You are responsible for any charges assessed by your carrier.
Recordkeeping
PLESD maintains records of SMS consent and opt-out requests to document messaging preferences, including choices submitted during annual data confirmation.
Changes to These Terms
PLESD may update these Terms and Conditions as its messaging services or applicable requirements change. Significant changes will be communicated by SMS or posted on the district website. The effective date above will reflect the latest update.

Message delivery depends on service providers and carrier networks. PLESD cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or delivery times.
