  • How do I become a substitute teacher or classified substitute?
To become a Substitute Teacher, please get in touch with the Yuba County Office of Education to begin the application and credentialing process.
To become a Classified Substitute, please contact the Human Resources Department. We are currently accepting substitute applications in the following areas:
      • Cafeteria
      • Clerical
      • Custodial
      • Paraprofessional
      • Yard Duty
Our Human Resources team can provide additional information regarding application requirements, current opportunities, and the hiring process.
 
  • Do I need to be fingerprinted before I can begin working for PLESD?
Yes. In accordance with California Assembly Bills 1610 and 1612, all classified and certificated substitutes, as well as probationary and temporary employees offered employment, are required to complete fingerprinting through the Department of Justice. Employment is contingent upon receiving fingerprint clearance and the results of the background investigation.
