Response to Intervention, RTI, is the Districts plan to organize intervention resources so that may provide more intensive, individualized support as students display increased needs. RTI is also diagnostic tool, in that it provides evidence that students with significant learning delays may have a learning disability.
The school site Response to Intervention Team discusses and recommends intervention strategies using regular school resources and personnel. The team may coordinate assessment referrals for students whose needs cannot be met with modification of the regular program. The RTI team may refer a student to Special Education Services only after all resources of regular education have been considered and, where appropriate, utilized.
