Spring Chorus Auditions!
Attention all Parents and Students:
State Education Cuts and the Bottom Line for PLESD:
I am sure you have all been informed of the budget crisis our State is in and what that means for education, locally, in your child's school. Over the last few months the Plumas Lake Elementary School Board has had to make some difficult decisions that will affect the 2010-2011 school year. Some of those decisions will directly impact your child's education and opportunity to participate in many of the classes & activities that they love and look forward to each day.
Introducing… the Plumas Lake Foundation:
The Plumas Lake Foundation is being set up, by volunteers in the community, to support and enhance quality education for the students of PLESD. The foundation looks to provide after school enrichment classes and raise money that will help provide funding for programs that are being cut by the State during these fiscally challenging times. More information to come as the foundation continues to develop.
Spring Chorus:
Our first endeavor will be to offer a Spring Chorus. The chorus will practice 1-2 times a week beginning April 12th through the end of the school year, under the direction of Dr. Ueda. See attached biography! Our group of talented students will be performing at the middle school promotion and 5th grade continuation ceremonies for both elementary schools. They will also be performing at an invitational fundraiser to kick off the official start of the foundation.
Auditions:
Come join us Wednesday, March 31st at 3:00pm in the Multi-Purpose Room at Rio Del Oro Elementary for Spring Chorus Tryouts. All ages welcome. Fee will be $35 for each child or $50 per family (siblings of first child). All students that make the cut will be notified on Thursday, April 1st and will be given a practice and performance schedule.
