Our Para-Educators:
Mrs. Drake     I am so happy to say we worked within the PLESD since 2005. I began as a K-8 Substitute Teacher. This gave me the opportunity to get to know many beautiful people within this wonderful community over the years. In 2008, I accepted a position as a Signing Para-Professional at Cobblestone Elementary School, and I feel so fortunate to work with an awesome group of kids whom I treasure, as well as my own two!
I was also fortunate to be able to put my journalism degree to use last semester, teaching an after-school GATE journalism class.
All the while, I am able to continue substitute teaching. I hope to officially pursue my teaching credential soon!
My hobbies are spending fun times with my kids. I enjoy the outdoors, especially biking and running. I love shopping, and I can't wait for Plumas Lake to "get more retail." I also enjoy cooking and eating good food...hint, hint.

Alles Reis
I have been married for 25 years and have a 21-year-old daughter, Leann. Prior to working for Plumas Lake Elementary School District, I began working as an Aide at la Petite Academy in Yuba City and within two years of working there, became Director of the facility. After two years of being the Director, I decided I would prefer to work more closely with children, so I began working at Plumas Elementary in January of 1999. I worked mainly with Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. When Rio Del Oro opened in 2004, I transferred there and worked exculsively with Kindergarten students. I left Rio Del Oro in June of 2006 to help my husband build our new home in Gridley and start up his painting corporation. I returned the following school year in August of 2007 and was assigned to Riverside Middle School. I worked in the Special Education Department as a Paraprofessional until June of 2009. In August of 2009, I was reassigned to Cobblestone Elementary School, also working in the Special Education Department. I really look forward to working with and getting to know the students at Cobblestone. I also look forward to working with the wonderful staff and getting to know the parents.

By way of introduction...

About Mrs. Worthington:

I graduated from California State University at Chico with a Bachelor's Degree. I continued on at CSU, Chico, to earn my Clear Level II Education Specialist Instruction Credential. This past year, several members of the Plumas Lake Elementary School District Special Education Department, including myself, went through a comprehensive Autism Training Program.

I started teaching at this District when Riverside Meadows was built, fall 2006. I have seen a lot of changes. The most significant and meaningful changes to me have been the growth in my students' abilities in the core subject areas and in their abilities to persist and maintain self-confidence, growing socially as well as cognitively.

Accomplishments:

High School Honor Society
University Dean's List
University Honor Student
College Newspaper Editor-in-Chief
Winner, Moot Court competition
Student McGeorge School of Law
Winner Staff Scholarship, CSU, Chico
APLE Scholarship Recipient
Licensed California Real Estate Broker

National School Leadership Credential

Julie Watari

My name is Julie Watari. I have been with Plumas Lake School District for over five years. I am also a resident of the Plumas Lake community. My terrific husband, Bryan, and I have four wonderful kids and also run a restaurant in the area.

I have worked with all sorts of students, Kindergarten through 5th grade, and I have enjoyed them all! This year is especially rewarding because of all the new programs our team is using so it is great to see the kids grow and learn so quickly.

Cobblestone Elementary has an awesome bunch of kids and incredible teachers! I am lucky to be a part of it!
