We Are Writing Stars!

We write everyday. Monday through Thursday, we do guided writing where we practice our "6 stars" of writing. On Friday, we have our free journal time where we create a picture and a sentence(s) that shows our writing progress.

This week, we are focusing on descriptive writing. We are practicing writing "one good sentence". We are starting on Monday with a simple sentence and ending our week with a descriptive sentence. Each day we are building on our sentence.

Here is an example:

Monday - "I like to ______ (activity)."
Tuesday - "I like to _____(activity) ______(setting)."
Wednesday - "I like to _____(activity) ______(setting) ______ (time of day)."
Thursday - Write entire sentence and draw a matching picture.

Name on our paper

Punctuation

Capital at the beginning of our sentence

Lowercase letters

Finger spacing

Picture that matches our sentence
