Hello! My name is Jennifer Lawson and I am your child's Kindergarten teacher this year.
This is my sixth year teaching in this district. I have taught one year of 1st/2nd grade, two years of 2nd/3rd grade, and two years of Kindergarten. I received my Bachelor in Arts degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Music from California State University at Sacramento. I also received my teaching credential from CSUS. I completed my student teaching in the Rio Linda Unified School district where I worked with 1st grade, 2nd/3rd grade, and 4th grade. Prior to this, I worked for a child care facility for seven years where I was a teacher and site director. I worked with grades K-8th.
Growing up, I was heavily involved in 4-H. Raising sheep on my parents farm was my main focus while in 4-H. Being involved in 4-H taught me organization, discipline, teamwork, and leadership. It also gave me the opportunity to socialize with others my age. It is my hope that I will transfer these skills to my students to help them be successful in their education.
Outside of school, I spend time with my husband and two children. I enjoy scrapbooking, watching movies, working around my house, and shopping.
