PE

Please make sure that your child is staying active while at home. For P.E. this month we will be working on movement concepts.  This focuses on your child's body in relation to the world and others. Practice with your child spatial awareness using locations, directions, levels, pathways, extensions. Also practice the amount of effort such as time, force, and flow. And lastly their relationships with shapes and actions.

PE. days will be Wednesday and Friday from 1:40-2:20 and Mondays from 1:10 to 1:30

Keep Them Motivated

Homework Time...
Make sure that your child is taking at least 10 minutes every night to read. This may include you reading to them or them reading a story to you. If they can not read yet then have them read the white phonics books that I will send home. If they can read then have them read a story at their level and then ask them questions about the story to increase their comprehension. Every week a book review is due and your child should be completing this on their own.

Visit your local library or book store for books at your child's reading level. Also I have books available in my classroom that I can loan to you.

Remember that they are still kids; so they should be playing outdoors and keeping active as well. Pace their homework out. Complete 10 minutes of homework and then have them play for 10 minutes or give them a snack. They will work better if their brains have had a break.

Make reading more fun for them
*Read in a tent, under a bed, make a fort
Try reading to them for 10 minutes and then have them read to you for 10 minutes. Switch it up; kids love listening to adults read. Make story time an exciting time for your child and for your entire family.

I hope this helps!! These will all work differently for every child. Find out what your child likes and use that.

If you could please send your child with a healthy snack for recess time that would be great.  We don't eat lunch until 11:30 and the kids are super hungry by then.  Donations for the class will also be greatly appreciated:)
