The Board of Trustees believes that regular attendance plays an important role in student achievement. The Board shall work with parents/guardians and students to ensure their compliance with all state attendance laws, and may use appropriate legal means to correct problems of chronic absence or truancy.
Having trouble getting to school?
Missing a day of school is a missed opportunity. Make-up work cannot replace the great instruction and opportunity to collaborate with peers that our students receive every day. Research suggests that students who are absent a significant amount of time are less likely to be proficient in reading and math and are at a greater risk of becoming high school dropouts. Give your child the opportunity to get the most out of his/her education by continuing to make school attendance a priority. Click on these links for some great resources for parents.
Absences and Excuses
School sites must follow California Education Code 48205 when determining if an absence is excused. Click the link below for a list of excused absences.
