Questions from April 16, 2008 Board meeting
Heather Templeton asks:
I discovered a short time ago that we have cable t.v. service in our classrooms here at Rio. I’m curious how much the District is paying for cable service IN the classrooms. Is cable t.v. available at ALL the school sites? If so, how much has been paid for this so far this year?

Cable is being provided by comcast cable to the school sites at no charge.
Audrie Ruhl asks:
What is our dollar per student average?

The state web site called Ed-Data reports enable you to access school districts' financial information in a variety of ways. Copy and paste to your web browser:

Audrie Ruhl asks:
Who is working on the construction of this website? There are many parents who have offered to assist with updating all the information on this site, so it could be more useful to people interested in our school district.

The various departments in the district office have oversight of their web information.  If you have ideas regarding what other information might be useful, please contact the specific departments.
Audrie Ruhl asks:
Are there actually going to be three PE teachers at Riverside and no PE teachers in the elementary schools next year?

The assignments for the master schedule at Riverside will be finalized before the start of the new school year as to the needs of that school.  Physical Education at the Middle School Level requires 400 minutes every 10 days and is part of the educational program. Physical Education at grades 1-5 is 200 minutes every 10 days and is taught by the classroom teacher most all districts. This district has had the luxury of Elementary PE teachers over the past few years, unfortunately with declining enrollment and state budget cuts, the program in our district has had to be discontinued.  If economic conditions turn around in the future it is possible this program could be brought back.  If the principals and staff would like to add a credentialed teacher to teach PE, either full time or part time, then they will have to make recommendations to site council for the expenditure of categorical money for that request.
